Kathmandu || Changan has unveiled its new Deepal G318 SUV, securing an impressive 14,126 orders within just five days. Priced between RMB 175,900 and 318,000 (approximately 24,300 USD to 43,900 USD), the G318 is designed as a formidable off-road range extender SUV. This model comes in six variants, catering to both two-wheel and four-wheel drive options. The base model, featuring two-wheel drive, is open for pre-orders with deliveries starting in August, while the premium variant will begin pre-sales in early 2025. Built on Changan’s Blue Core platform, the G318 combines a 1.5T range extender, a high-performance electric motor, and a Golden Shield battery, providing peak power of 185 kW at the rear and 131 kW at the front.
The G318’s rugged exterior design includes cyber-metal armor, distinctive C-shaped energy lights, and a substantial ground clearance of 240 mm, ensuring it stands out both on-road and off-road. The interior is available in three elegant color options: Forest Black, Glacier Blue, and Holy Lake Green. It features a 14.6-inch smart screen, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, and several handles to emphasize its off-road capabilities. The vehicle is loaded with advanced features, such as heated and ventilated front seats, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC), a 360° panoramic camera, and the enhanced Deepal OS. Additionally, it offers superior acoustic comfort with five-pane double-layer soundproof glass and ENC active noise cancellation.
With a CLTC-rated combined range of over 1,000 km and a battery-powered range of 190 km, the G318 is designed for long journeys. The SUV also features a 6kW external discharge function and is equipped with electronic infinite differential locks and a rear axle electric drive differential lock for exceptional off-road performance.
