Kathmandu || BYD, the world’s largest new energy vehicle manufacturer, has reported impressive growth in sales. In June, the company sold 341,658 electric vehicles, reflecting a 3.07 percent increase from May and a notable 35.05 percent rise compared to June of the previous year. Of these, 1,447 were commercial vehicles, with the remaining being passenger cars, including models from its brands Denza, Yangwang, and Fang Chao Bo.
In terms of specific models, the BYD Song family led with 70,219 units sold, followed by the Dynasty series with 24,658 units and the Ocean series with 45,561 units. Other significant sales included 68,450 units from the Queen Family and 36,222 units from the Yuvan Family. The Sigul model reached 36,066 units, the Seal sold 24,407 units, the Han family recorded 21,866 units, the Tang model sold 15,719 units, and the Dolphin model had 10,860 units sold.
In the premium segment, BYD’s Denza brand sold 12,275 units, Fang Chao Bo reported 2,680 units, and the luxury SUV Yangwang U-8 sold 418 units. BYD’s electric vehicles are also gaining popularity in Nepal, becoming some of the top-selling EVs in the region.
